The things I enjoy most about living in my house are the thermal properties and the sunlight. I focused much of my design on the efficiency of the passive solar gain in the coldest months here in Santa Fe. Because of that, I also have lots of natural sunlight, which I love for many reasons. The thermal mass of the interior adobe walls and floors lend great thermal properties while also giving inhabitants and visitors a nice relationship to the materials of the house. Of course, there is also a wonderful feel to living in a house I built. I'm able to enjoy something I created and also study the things I would do differently next time.
